Its shadow is a little ahead of itself.
A slender stem, milk-white petals, and a shadow that lives one day ahead. While the buds are still closed, their shadows are already in bloom.

From the field journal
I found it beside a stopped clock. At first I thought the light had made a mistake. Then I counted the flowers: one on the stem, three in the shadow. I stayed until morning. The shadow was right.
